X-Ray Technician State Board Examination Review

This 2 day, 16 hour review course will assist the knowledge base of a graduate from an X-ray Technician program in the preparation to take the State Board examination for the Limited Permit X-ray Technician. Day 1 of the review will cover the topics of radiological physics, equipment, technical factors, film/critique, darkroom & film processing, radiation protection and safety. Day 2 will cover digital radiography, generalized anatomy and positioning and the categories of Chest, Extremities and Torso-skeletal.

For the individual who has been notified by The California Department of Public Health, Radiologic Health Branch to take a 10 hour State Approved Program Review prior to re-applying for the State Board Examination, this 16.0 hour course will also satisfy that requirement. Please bring your letter (copy) from RHB if you are required to take the review class to re-apply for the examination. A certificate and letter from the Program Director will be provided at the completion of the session for you to submit with your application to the RHB.

Please remember that this course is a review of the topics covered in your X-ray education and does not take the place of that primary education.

Important Note: Digital Radiography Examination Questions
The examination for the Limited Permit X-ray Technician now includes digital radiography questions effective January 2009. If you graduated from a program that did not have an approved digital radiography curriculum, you will not receive State Authorization to operate digital radiography upon passing your examination. You will need to obtain additional education from a State of California Approved Digital Radiography Program to obtain Authorization from the RHB.
